What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication". RSS feeds automatically deliver updated information on your favorite websites straight to your desktop -- all you need is an RSS reader. You can see when a site has an RSS feed as it will have a bright orange button that says either RSS or XML, or will have the official RSS orange & white icon.
Here are examples of how an RSS button may look:
Some browsers will have an RSS reader already built in, but if your's does not, then you can easily download a program to your computer:
If you are working on Windows, go to: RSS Reader
You can see other RSS readers at: 2 RSS
Macintosh users can download: NetNewsWire for Mac OS X
To get content automatically, you should subscribe to a feed. Or, when you go to your favorite site and you see that little button that says "RSS" or "XML" simply right click and select "copy shortcut" and then paste that link into your RSS reader.
